Bach: Violin Partita No.3, BWV 1006, Gavotte, part 1

This music is literally out of this world, being aboard the interstellar probe Voyager 1 that was launched in 1977, left our heliosphere in 2012 and continued sending data back to Earth until 2025. It is the most distant human-made object from Earth (over 16 billion miles as of March, 2026). Bach's music is part of the “Golden Record” describing life on Earth, in case it is ever found and studied by some other civilization. The record also includes a message from President Jimmy Carter saying “This is a present from a small, distant world, a token of our sounds, our science, our images, our music, our thoughts and our feelings. We are attempting to survive our time so we may live into yours.”
