A German song about having to leave one's love for a few years to complete the customary journeyman's service. A rough translation is “Must I, then? Must I, then? From the town must I, then?”. Elvis adapted the melody for his song “Wooden Heart”, but half-way through he sings the original German lyrics! See the youtube.
