Position V is still the place where “Poor Middle B” has no room and must stay outside in the yellow zone with some sharps and flats. Yet it forms an essential bridge between positions I and VII that is easy to learn since half of the notes are already familiar. Remember to find fifth position “with ease” using “first finger E on the second string.”
Scale 14. Minor thirds to cover position V.
Scale 15. For Elise.
